In 2015, NGOs and other actors in education worked together to formulate the principles of education which could meet the Sustainable Development Goals. The result of their work is an educational Vision and a set of competencies for global citizen in four domains.
The Vision document was a widely discussed and universally accepted so that it can underpin necessary changes in the educational system. The article describes the process of discussion of the document and its subsequent analysis through the survey; derives conclusions concerning the balance of the proposed educational domains and competences within this framework, and points to the possibilities of application of this concept in educational policies in the Czech Republic.
It concludes with the reflection on the role of civil society and its relationship with the educational system that is in our conditions based politically, and therefore unstable.
