Abstract
Ten microsatellite primer pairs were developer for the genus Schoenus in order to test genetic variability and quantify hybridization among Schoenus nigricans and S. ferrugineus. Populations from Czech and Slovak Republic were analysed.
Within Czech Republic only the population Všetaty contains genetically pure individual of the genus Schoenus ferrugineus. All other individual are Schoenus nigricans or individuals are of hybrid origin.
Some individuals morphologically determined as hybrids were genetically identified as Schoenus nigricans.
