The chapter deals with building of homage to the Blessed Virgin with the lords of Martinic. It focuses on Jaroslav Bořita Martinic, Maxmilián Valentin Martinic and Bernard Ignác Martinic personalities.
The study uses records preserved in Martinic family archives, their personal correspondence to the lords of Lobkovic, the records from the archives of Slaný municipality and Smečno manor, the Court of Appellation records, and records of Church origin. The authors aim to show the ways the Martinic family tradition emphasized the Blessed Virgin Mary devotion elements and how those elements were used during the counter-reformation of their estates.
