Abstract
We have morpho-logically and immunohistochemically analyzed 50 such cases andundertaken an extensive literature review in order to provide suffi-cient evidence for a similar origin and pathogenesis of these lesionsand a reason for consideration of these conditions as part of a singlemorphologic spectrum. This would allow dropping out numerouspuzzling terms and unification of all these lesions under a collec-tive name.
On the basis of the characteristic nuclear features weproposed the designation "histiocytosis with raisinoid nuclei."The article by Val-Bernal et al. provides further evidence for ourconcept.
