Abstract
Chapter Alevis in Collective Monography In the Shadow of Islam on Minority Religions in the Middle East, it deals with a religious-ethnic minority of Alevis living in the territory of Turkey. It is a group of Turkish and Kurdish speakers whose religion was influenced by Shiite mystical Islam, but also by various esoteric teachings.
The text is divided into two main chapters, the first dealing with historical contexts, the doctrine and the rituals, the second one looking at the transformation of the community in the twentieth century and its emancipatory efforts within the Turkish society.
