Abstract
The author attempts on the basis of the correspondence between Henry More and René Descartes to interpret Descartes' influence on the philosophy of one of the prominent representatives of Cambridge Platonism. Jacques Joseph focuses on the problem to what extant the idea of dualism was reflected in the concept of English thinker and discusses in detail More's critique of the mechanistic conception of theory of impetus.
