The paper focuses on the presentation of hitherto not much used written source for the history of travel in the Czech lands in the 19th century: so-called visitor's books. The main part of the paper consists of overview of creating and development visitor's books history, typology (dividing into private and public books; the public books can be classified to the visitor's books in mansions and nature spots), content analysis and information value of this source type.
This paper also includes an appendix of preserved 19th century visitor's books known to the paper author.
