The main topic of the article is development of settlements in Decin after the Second World War from the point of view of contemporary witnesses. It focuses on sociological aspects such as the cultural and collective memory of newcomers.
It is mainly based on interviews with a small group of citizens, where the methodology of bibliography/oral history has been used for collecting data about their daily life. These interviews, combined with a short historical description of the region, contribute to the explanation of the study of the literature and archival sources used, and introduce the process of displacement of the German population and the resettlement of the border regions.
