Modern language teaching methods at the Faculty of Transporation Sciences of the Czech Technical University FD CVUT
Abstrakt
All students of FT ČVUT currently study two foreign languages. The training is carried out consistently, the first one comes in the beginning, then another language is selected, one of the two must be English, which may be both the first and the second language of the student's choice.
As noted by the students themselves, the process of forgetting the language while they are not engaged, is very fast, especially for a new language or the one with the lower level of knowledge. It is possible to tell that about half of our students knows English at the level B2 and better, so they could study the next foreign language in English.
Part of the students studying at the FD are foreigners, for whom the mother or second mother tongue is Russian, however studying English on the basis of the Czech is a big problem for them. Our experiments have helped to solve the problem of teaching all students simultaneously two or more languages with the selection of optimal solutions to individual problems.
