Abstract
The Contemporary Layer Conversation is a discussion of contemporary forms of painting. The media of painting has partially withdrawn into the background of artistic theory.
After the beginning of the new millennium, we talked about the dematerialization of painting, but at the present time painting seems to return to the canvas again. The continuous layer builds on the tradition of painting discussions (a symposium in the 90's on the AVU and others), which is very important for the future reflection of our present, but also for the actual creation.
The purpose of the conference is to open the discussion and evaluate what the media's painting positions are and how they have changed over the past few years.
