Abstract

Current science places high demands on the sharing and processing of scholarly information and data. Scientific research teams often work distributedly not only at the national but also at the international level.

All these needs are supported by the development of software, web tools and services that streamline and facilitate collaboration within research groups. The literature often uses the terms e-science, open science, e-research to denote these e-tools and services.

The article describes the present state of knowledge about this issue as referred to in the literature, and introduces the research that undertaken to determine the current state.
