Abstract
The book maps pragmatic properties and pecularities of Czech sentence emerging in communication, It pursues the development of treatments of the grammar/pragmatics interface both in Czech and in international linguistics as well as various attempts to formalize illocutionaty values of sentences (the so-called performative hypothesis, the theory of functional grammar, the cartography of syntactic structures. It introduces the concept of logophoricity into analysis of Czech language.
