How to Approach Teaching Phonetic Aspects of Czech?

Abstract

The importance of teaching phonetic aspects of language is widely underestimated at schools. The present paper searches for causes of this state in its first part and predicts its consequences in the second part.

In detail, we analyze the most common problems of speech production. The core part of our paper comprises analysis based on a survey conducted among the first year secondary school students.

The third part of our paper outlines possible solutions of the problem we analyze.
