Taxonomically conceived curriculum of natural science/biology

Abstract

The article discusses the concept of taxonomically conceived curriculum which is typical for teaching natural science / biology in the Czech Republic. It is focused on two basic aspects which are occurred in lessons: 1) deductive approach to teach, 2) chronological overview of the topics from "simple to more complex" organisms.

The purpose of this paper is to delineate some effective innovations that may contribute to a better understanding of biological knowledge and improve interest in teaching natural science / biology, especially for students of lower secondary schools.
