The second chapter deals with the qualification requirements, the labor market issue and the required competencies. It is based on the fact that the qualifications acquired in initial education and training create the basic prerequisite for further development of the individual and his / her application to the labor market, to acquire new or develop existing competencies, but also to maintain them through further education.
The chapter gives an overview of the results of the empirical survey of the educational structure and labor market application in the OECD countries and the location of the Czech Republic within this international comparison. It deals with the concept of transferable competences and the demands of employers.
The most demanding competencies on the Czech labor market are discussed in terms of outputs of research surveys, based on the evaluation of employers and school graduates themselves. It provides information on trends in the development of job positions in the context of qualification requirements.
