Abstract

Based on a corpus of texts obtained from the diaries and letters of Franz Kafka, the article analyses the role of illness, disease and medicine in the discourse of this author. It presents some partial themes that determine fundamental aspects of the role illness played in the life and work of Kafka, such as, for example, his attitude to standard medicine.
