Abstract

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is very common disease troubling not only specialists, but also general practicioners. The disease is defined as symptoms or complications resulting from the reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus or beyond into the oral cavity, larynx or lung.

GERD can be furhter classified as the presence of symptoms without erosions on endoscopic examination or with erosions present. Overview and management of the disease.
