Publication at Faculty of Humanities |
2017

Abstract

There are ways that do not go anywhere. One of these routes led to the village of Kralupy, which in the 1970s was destroyed due to coal mining.

How was the demolition of the municipalities at that time and what socio-economic processes affected it? The lection will focus on Kralupy u Chomutova as representative of demolished municipalities. It will focus on the historical development of the village, the economic context of the expansion of brown coal mining, and ultimately the demolition process itself and what it meant for the inhabitants of the village who settled in the village after the Second World War after the German inhabitants left it, is another factor that strongly influences the perception of demolition.

Analysis of archive sources leading to answers was supplemented with the method of oral history and analysis of period discourse.
