Émile Durkheim and Czech Sociology: on the 100th anniversary of the death of an important French sociologist

Abstract

This article deals with the question of the influence of Durkheim's sociology on the formation of domestic Czech sociology. It notes that Durkheim's holistic approach was not accepted - with rare exceptions - in the Czech environment, but was mostly adapted with regard to a perspective that can be described as individualistic.
