Abstrakt
The paper reviews briefly the development of Czech theory of terminology starting from its roots in the period of Prague Linguistic Circle till nowadays. Its characteristic features, tendencies, theoretical approaches (from traditions of Czech functional structuralism to modern corpus-based and cognitive theories), concepts and definitions (term, terminology) are mentioned in connection with the most significant representatives of the field and their terminological works.
