The paper discusses Egypt's strategy in the Ramesside era, focussing on the territory of Levant. Considering that Egypt's foreign policy changed significantly in comparison to previous times, we have numerous evidences of military campaigns which resulted in the building of wide range of different types of governmental/commercial centers but also well fortify strategic points: Beth-Shean, Dor, Tell Sera, Ashdod, Gezer, Tell el-Sa'iydieh, etc.
These cities continued to serve the Egyptian government to the end of the late 20th Dynasty, when the Egyptian presence and consequently also power declined. Majority of cities were abandoned or finally came to an end in severe violent destruction, perhaps due to attacks by locals.
