Abstract
The text deals with the evaluation of Vaclav Havel's role as the first president of the Czechoslovakia after 1989. Havel is judged by his criticism and contemporary Oswald Kostrba, who worked as an editor on Radio Free Europe and was also an important exile publicist in 1951 - 1974.
