In this text, we will primarily deal with queer art understood in the sense of a critical approach to normativity. We will attempt to demonstrate the critical potential of such an intentional and not identically defined notion of queer art.
In principle, we do not reject the categories of gay or lesbian art, nor the use of the term queer to designate contemporary art created by artists and artists other than heterosexual orientation The main objective of this text is to analyze the various strategies that artists use to deliberately interfere with normality. We will focus on artistic projects that deal with the issue of otherness in an explicitly political sense, and criticize the standards of a society that restricts the free expression of otherness, or directly suppresses it.
