This case study describes the development of the early lexical skills of the Czech-German bilingual toddler. The study is based on an empirical material compiled during a structured observation of a bilingual child in real day-to-day situations in the child's family for six months.
Observations were implemented according to the instructions used in the Czech adaptation of the parental inventory of the communication development - MacArthur and Bates. The study provides an analysis of the overall vocabulary growth as well as the analysis of vocabulary structure in both languages.
