This piece focuses on a neglected aspect of Bertha Suttner's life: her aristocratic ancestors of the house Kinsky and her complicated relationship with her family. The focus is mainly on her private life which she apparently discusses to a great extent in her memoirs but really keeps a lot unsaid.
To explain the hidden histories of her life, this work tries to describe in minute detail the history of the ancient Kinsky counts and dukes and, at the same time, the important person of her guardian duke Fürstenberg whom she depicted in a very positive and kind way.
