Abstract
It is Bernard's largest and in the middle age also most popular work. He wrote it in last 18 years of his life.
It is not historical-critical exegesis, but spiritual understanding of Song of Songs. Bernard points out two dimensions of Song of Songs: ecclesiological (spiritual life of the church) and mystical (spiritual life of individual).
Second corrected edition of all the 86 sermons is edited in one volume without parallel Latin text.
