Voltammetric Determination of Dye Yellow Sunset at Silver Solid Amalgam Electrode

Abstract

Voltammetric determination of sunset yellow (E110) was studied using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) at a meniscus modified silver solid amalgam electrode (m-AgSAE). Optimal conditions were found for its determination in Britton-Robinson buffer pH 4 within the concentration range from 2 to 100 μmol L-1.

Adsorptive stripping voltammetry was employed to receive linear dynamic range from 0.1 to 0.8 μmol L-1 in the same medium and accumulation time 100 s at accumulation potential -50 mV. Developed method was successfully used for the direct determination of dye concentration in commercial beverage (level of 30 μmol L-1)
