Abstract
Wallachian medieval ruler Vlad III Dracula (Tepes) is largely know as a model for the vampire from novel by Bram Stoker. The real Vlad III is seen in the Romania milieu as a brave prince who faced successfully the Ottoman expansion to Europe.
Writer Ion Budai-Deleanu placed the plot of his comic and heroic epos Tiganiada in the time of his rule, wher Vlad Tepes and his fight against Turks represent a heroic part.
