The crime of financing terrorism

Abstract

The phenomenon of terrorism is an extensive global problem against which states try to take effective action and criminal law tools are only one of the means in the fight against it. This article focuses on the crime of financing terrorism according to the provision § 312d of Criminal code, because the financing of terrorism is one of the key areas in which the attention should be paid in the context of the fight against terrorism.

By the enacting this new criminal offence legislator responded to the requirements of the Financial Action Task Force and the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Measures against Dirty Efforts and Financing of Terrorism. The author discusses the changes brought by the enacting of this crime and critically evaluates them.
