The issue of literature written by migrants has been solved for many years. Looking for the reasons for removing it from the corpus of national literature, and those that would incorporate it on the contrary.
In the French context, in contrast to other countries, the creation of authors originating from elsewhere takes a special place, the boundaries between the continental France and the former colonies, especially the Maghreb (Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco), are very permeable. One language is used by people of different nationalities, whether French, mother tongue, official or cultural language.
Let us therefore look closer to the place in the dichotomy of French and French-speaking literature belonging to French writers living in France, but who come from elsewhere. A narrowly defined sample of work will illuminate the specifics of this type of literature better than if we were to attempt a general view.
