Practical component of mathematics education of Pre-service primary school teachers: students' Perspective

Abstract

The paper presents findings from the first part of the research related to the student teacher professional development and focused at this stage on primary school student teachers and their teaching practice in mathematics. The goal of this first part of our research is to gain data that would allow to bring about an effective change in the conception of primary school teacher education at two universities - University in Ostrava and Charles University in Prague.

However, the findings could be of interest to the broader community of teacher educators as it cast light on student teachers' need in their professional training.
