This chapter deals with issues resulting from the commutation of two or more diseases from the point of view of social gerontology, social policies and social law. Emphasis is placed on unfavourable conditions resulting from this situation and analyses of the needs, both 232 individual and social, that must be met.
It continues with a contemplation of options for exploiting the broad range of tools available for improving the quality of life of the elderly with regard to their state of health and financial security, as well as the availability and level of social and individual support.
