Eye-tracking method employed for deeper understanding pupils' solving problem processes in physics education research

Publication

Abstract

The paper aims at introducing eye-tracking methodology used in physics education research in order to observe students' problem solving strategies. Particularly, a research study observing high school students when solving problems from mechanics will be presented.

Obtained results were compared in expert-novice paradigm, where approaches of the best and the worst performing students were compared. Advantages and limits of the method will be presented as well.
