This thesis represents collection of individual papers devoted to the problems related to the Late Kushan and Kushan-Sasanian Tokharistan. This text deals with selected problems related to archaeology and history of Bactria / Tokharistan, especially in 3rd-4th c.
AD. Present author tries in each chapter to re-evaluate traditional scholarly approaches, state of research, to examine repeated statements and views that are quite often based on a fragile evidence.
This work thus represents rather collection of archaeologically oriented discussions related to Late Antique Southern Central Asia, focusing on particular research area of the Sherabad District, Southern Uzbekistan.
