Military Handbooks as Items for Sale of the Frankfurt Book Fairs in the Second Half of the 16th Century

Abstract
Since 1564 Georg Willer started to edit catalogues of the books, which were sold on the Frankfurt Fairs. In 1592 an overview catalogue of all the books sold between 1564 and 1592 was published, in 1600 there was a supplement of the books sold from 1593 to1600.
All of these catalogues were organized according to the subjects of the books. Military handbooks haven't ever been a distinctive category in them.
Nevertheless we can observe some of the aspects of period approach of members of the book market to military handbooks, if we study choice, substantive classification and way of citations of the publications.
