Crossing Borders. Nature and Spirit in Classical German Philosophy

Publication

Abstract

As the title of the conference makes clear, the focus lies in the phenomenon of the crossing, especially of the crossing of the threshold of nature towards spiritual phenomena. For Classical German Idealism, this topic is central since both Schelling and Hegel are advocates of a monistic conception of reality.

In this case, the question of the nature of the crossing is crucial: why does this crossing seem necessary? How does nature form spiritual structures? What remains the same and what changes after the crossing?
