Non-prepositional English correspondences of Czech prepositional phrases. From function words to functional sentence perspective (Chapter 8)

Abstract

The study explores English non-prepositional translation counterparts of Czech prepositions v/ve, na, s/se a z/ze. It points out the relations between divergent translation counterparts of the prepositions and the typological differences between the two languages involved, particularly at the level of word-order and functional sentence perspective.
