Abstract
The article maps in popular form tradition and present state of Latvian Open-Air Museums. It stresses role of the Open-Air Museums in the framework of the vivid folklore, their importance for national self-consciousness and it focuses on describing the oldest and biggest one of them the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia.
