Abstract
This contribution deals with the following question: how many mancipations are necessary in order to realize the noxae deditio. Following the introduction dealing with the mancipatio, mancipium, and noxal surrender in general, two main theories addressing the number of mancipations for noxal surrender are identified and analysed on the basis of ancient legal sources.
