Abstract
The charter covers the development of legal regulation of the ostensible marriage, starting from General Civil Code 1811 till present Civil Code. The emphasis is put on comparing possible legislative attitudes to this institute.
The author comes to conclusion, that the attitude in present Civil Code, combining both general and casuistic standpoint, can be considered as respecting the requirement of legal sureness in matters of personal status.
