Interwar Czechoslovakia and Roots of European Integration

Abstract

The contribution deals with the European integration in the period of time between the two world wars from the Czechoslovakian point of view. It analyzes the international position and policy of Czechoslovakia which was oriented on the Western powers.

The contribution deals with the role of Czechoslovakia in the Little Entente and in the United Nations and with the role of the Minister of foreign aff airs - Edvard Beneš - in the European politics. Th e contribution also surveys signifi cant interwar conferences and international treaties and, at the end, also other potential projects of the European integration.
