Abstract
The article deals with the Mexican monastery architecture that originated in the territory of Central Mexico in the 16th century. Firstly, this architecture, as well as its artistic decoration, is beeing presented and its purpose, that is to evangelization and acclimatization of indigenous people, is expplained.
