Preparation of chemistry teachers is currently being realized at faculties pedagogy and science as a part of Bc. and NMgr. studies, based on the specific study plans acknowledged by the Accreditation Committee (AK). The students are generally prepared in two disciplines, with the combination chosen according to their interests.
Accordding to the new College Law 137/2016 Sb., AK ended its activities in 2016 and was replaced by the National Accredation Bureau (NAÚ). The accredation of programs and disciplines was replaced by institutional accredations of the educational programs.
The new law doesn't mention disciplines at all, putting the teacher-preparing faculties to a difficult task to change the two-disciplines studies into one-discipline program while preserving the possibility of approbation discipline selection. This contribution aims to bring current information about teacher preparation according to the accredations.
