Ten years ago, the Vienamese community in Varnsdorf managed to open the first temple of Mahayana Buddhism in Czechia. Up to now, thirteen other temples have already been established.
The article outlines the beginnings of this process and puts stress on the fact that the initial intention of building temples was to strenghten the cultural identity of Vietnamese people in Czechia. In addition to that, a religious revival of this minority has come into existence.
