Abstract
The History of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague offers the first-ever synthesis of the development of this important cultural and educational institution, based on extensive research. The basic research was rooted in a rigorous heuristic of sources, complemented by the subjective perspectives of oral history research, representing an inside view of the school.
The result is a comprehensive overview of the historical development of the academy, with many of the archival documents discovered being reflected of published for the first time.
