Social Benefits and Ecosystem Services of Reclaimed Landscape

Publication at Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities |

Abstract

The contribution focuses on social benefits of the landscape reclaimed after the opencast coal mining. It stems from the concept of ecosystem services.

Using primary data from the sample survey on Czech population and also benefit transfer method, we derive social values for production functions (wood and non-wood products) and non-production functions (C accumulation, primary production, including recreation and aesthetic functions) that are provided by the reclaimed landscape.
