Abstract

Chronic fatigue syndrome - CFS is a disease that lasts about 6 months in adults and in children three months. Other names are myalgia encephalomyelitis, postviral immune syndrome, chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome.

The reasons are biological, genetical, infectious or psychological. The paper discusses the history of chronic fatigue syndrome, epidemiology and its prevalence, clinical course, pathophysiology, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis, and also economics.
