Spiritual dimension significantly affects the quality of life, which is beyond dispute today. The concept of spiritually sensitive and spiritually oriented social work was well prepared in theory.
However, under what conditions are these concepts realistic in practice? How significant is a social worker's personal spirituality in communication with the client? As a part of the text there is a presentation of the limits and risks for which many social workers in religious and other organizations are not or cannot be experts in clients' spiritual needs. This reality does not negate the significance of spirituality in social work, though it may not be clearly described.
Yet there are several options how to focus on spirituality at helping professions qualified way. What is a blind spot and challenge in the Czech practice are the needs of clients who do not belong to any religious denomination.
