Abstract
The valleys represent important natural corridors. From the geomorphological point of view, the valleys belong to most dynamic parts of the landscape.
The factors affecting the valley origin and shape, the valley types and the most dynamic geomorphologic processes, i.e. avalanches and debris flows in mountainous valleys of the Czech Republic are presented in this article.
