Teaching of legal information systems and limits by using legal information systems in teaching

Publication at Faculty of Law |
2018

Abstract

The aim of the lecture is to explain what should be the aim of teaching legal information systems and - at the same time - what role legal information systems can fulfill when teaching law. The Legal Information System is both a tool for finding an applicable legal rule and a tool for finding relevant information for its interpretation.

However, searching for the right information requires the ability to formulate a structured and relatively sophisticated query. However, this requires legal knowledge, but the knowledge of the law cannot be acquired through legal information systems, and this is also the limitation of their use in teaching.
